Erradicar la pobreza es posible. Sabemos que existen recursos y tecnologías suficientes para ello, que nunca antes en la historia de la humanidad se tuvo la oportunidad que tenemos en este momento para lograr que la pobreza pase a la historia, igual que se logró abolir la esclavitud. Entonces, ¿qué falta para lograrlo? Falta VOLUNTAD POLÍTICA. No queremos seguir escuchando las buenas intenciones de los países ricos sobre la lucha contra la pobreza, cuando a la hora de tomar sus decisiones siguen sin aumentar la ayuda oficial al desarrollo a los países pobres, siguen imponiendo el pago de una deuda externa asfixiante e injusta y siguen actuando económica y comercialmente para sacar el máximo beneficio sin preocuparse de los daños que ocasionan a las economías del Sur.
